Two Years in Navy Blue - Paperback

by Ray Scott (Author)

Join the exploits of Royal Navy Morse code specialist Ray Scott as he captures the post-war matelot's life in graphic detail.

There's much for a wide-eyed, naive teenager to discover in a Nissen hut packed with characters, conflicts and laughter.

Ray's colourful memory brings the 1950s navy alive, evoking a simpler, happy time of joy and unity in service, but always with the ever-present fear of the Korean War, raging on the other side of the world, becoming global.

Meet Soppet the troubled sleep talker, Patrolman Butcher and Beryl the beauty - among many others - as Ray learns about life and emerges a changed man ready to tackle a new era.
